Zuzana Fabianová
She has been working in the field of follow-up and long-term care for more than 25 years, combining clinical practice, quality management, and public policy-making. She manages a complex of facilities that integrates health and social care and systematically develops professional nursing as a key pillar of long-term care. From 2017 to 2023, she led expert working groups at the Slovak Ministry of Health to develop national standards in nursing and long-term care. She was involved in the creation of the first national standard procedures for comprehensive patient nursing management in the context of follow-up and long-term care, including care for patients with dementia and behavioral disorders, pressure ulcers and their risk factors, immobility, malnutrition, chronic wounds, and palliative care. She was the architect of the concept of reimbursing nursing care in social service facilities. She systematically built this model through the creation of legislative proposals, expert negotiations, and strategic advocacy until it was anchored in the financing system. The introduction of nursing reimbursement was a fundamental step towards the systemic recognition of nursing as an integral part of long-term care and towards strengthening its position in the health and social care system. She has long been involved in motivating and stabilizing nursing teams, managing human resources, and building an organizational culture based on professionalism, responsibility, and respect. Leadership, workforce sustainability, and the implementation of standards into everyday practice are among her key areas of expertise. Since 2018, she has been acting as an expert guarantor of digital solutions in long-term care nursing. She participated in the development of the LTC module of the Malina portal, focused on follow-up and long-term care management, and led the development of an electronic module for nursing documentation in accordance with standard procedures, integrating standards, financing, and digital implementation into a single functional system. At the European Care Forum, she brings the experience of a leader who has been involved in creating standards, financing reform, quality management, and process digitization, while also being responsible for their day-to-day implementation. He is actively involved in shaping the European Care Framework initiative, which aims to strengthen the voice of long-term care in European policies and link national systems with sustainable quality, financing, and workforce frameworks.

Network for Health and Dignity - transformation of long-term care management in the Slovak Republic and modern management in social institutions
Many innovations in long-term care management are long overdue. Key LTC providers are struggling with many issues. Nursing management at ZSS has been getting stronger since 2018, but due to the structure of the clientele, an adequate level of health protection is still lacking in most facilities. Systematic introduction of health care is essential on the way to decent care in all ZSS. -
