Healthcare cyber resilience - from prevention to system support (10 min)
Slovakia’s healthcare system has a new Cyber Support Center at the NCZI. Its goal is to increase the digital resilience of hospitals and coordinate measures under the European Commission’s action plan in close cooperation with the ENISA agency. Since February 1, the center has been providing support to the entire sector. The center was established in response to the European Commission’s priority to create a stable support body that will enhance the cyber resilience of hospitals. Member states were tasked with building national centers, and Slovakia housed its center within the NCZI after amending its founding charter. This created a coordinator that connects the European direction with domestic practice. The vision is to become a central coordination and expert point for cybersecurity in healthcare. The center will guarantee the implementation of the action plan, provide methodological support, and create unified standards across the sector. The aim is for investments in security to be seen as investments in the quality and continuity of care, not as a cost. Why the new center was created
