Milan Andrejkovič

Milan Andrejkovič from MIRRI´s formed data office deals with data from various perspectives (reference data, my data, open data), while also emphasizing their use. He helps to set up the frameworks for the financing of projects focused on the management of public administration data, co-creates data legislation and, as the main data curator of the Slovak Republic for open public administration data, communicates and directs other data curators in Slovakia.

Martin Smatana

Martin Smatana studied at Oxford and Imerial College in London, where he graduated in health management. He worked in England as an analyst at a public health institute. From 2016 to 2020, he headed the Institute of Health Policy. He currently works in the field of artificial intelligence and works as an analyst for the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission. In addition, he cooperates with the Association for the Protection of Patients' Rights, is an advisor to the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and the Family and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VšZP. He is the author of several publications and a member of the social protection committee of the European Commission.

Lukáš Palaj

Lukáš Palaj graduated from the Brno University of Technology. He worked for nine years in a multinational company focused on development and research in the field of aerospace applications, where since 2017 he has focused on the use of artificial intelligence for diagnostics and forecasting of aircraft engines. He is also the author of two patents in this area. Since 2020, he has lead the Department of Digitization and Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry of Health.

Petra Zappe

Petra Zappe is responsible for coordinating policies to support science, research and innovation in health, with the aim of systematically supporting excellent teams with strong research and innovation potential in biomedicine and health. For more than 6 years, she served at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a senior policy manager in health and innovation, where she managed and coordinated multiple projects to support systemic reforms. Previously, she worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Innovation in Brazil on poverty reduction and socioeconomic development of disadvantaged urban communities. She studied International Business at the University of Economics in Bratislava and International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences…

Peter Lukáč

Before joining the NCHI, the General Director of the National Center for Health Information, Peter Lukáč, was dedicated to the informatization of the public sector, focusing on project management, process consolidation and optimization of expenses, as well as research and innovation. He worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Payment Agency and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Investments and Informatization. As part of his work at NCHI, he is working to complete the complete transformation of the institution into a process-oriented leader with a pro-client approach to state and public administration bodies, healthcare providers, as well as citizens through the development of electronic healthcare services.
