In ten seconds, an unbelievable amount happens in the world of healthcare—from new diagnoses and hospital admissions to robotic surgeries. Technologies such as robotic surgery, AI, telemedicine, and cybersecurity are already changing how we are treated. A lecture at the Itapa Healthcare conference reminded us that this is not a vision, but reality. According to the speaker, in such a short time approximately 21 new diagnoses of cardiovascular disease are made, 295 people are admitted to hospitals, and around 20 die. Every ten seconds, one robotically assisted surgery also takes place. These figures are meant to illustrate the speed and scale of activity in healthcare.
