IS SAWO - The digital future of occupational safety (7 min)

Introducing the Safe Work information system, which digitizes the labor inspectorate's processes and turns them from a paper burden into a fast, clear service. It covers oversight of occupational safety for approximately 2,5 million employees and responds to the needs of thousands of inspections annually. The goal is to improve quality, accessibility, and efficiency, thereby saving people's time as well as public finances.

Why a new system for labor inspection

Until now, labor inspection operated on old, cumbersome solutions dominated by manual inputs, Excel spreadsheets, and complex bureaucracy. An average of 20 000 inspections per year and hundreds of submissions often ran into slow processes and a weak response to legislative changes. This was inconvenient for inspectors as well as for citizens and entrepreneurs who waited for results and answers. The goal of the new system is to move from paper to 'smart' occupational health and safety and to free professional work from administrative tasks.
