Welcoming guests
The spring ITAPA 2025 conference was given its opening tone by its director, Michal Ivanišin, with a trio of "breakthroughs" the event aims to bring. Accompanied by hosts Marián Koreň and Marta Jančkárová, he outlined three main themes: a civilizational debate on artificial intelligence, "spring cleaning" in state IT projects, and a more forceful fight against cybercrime. The opening thus set expectations for both practical and values-driven discussions. According to Ivanišin, Petr Mára’s very first keynote is meant to remind us that artificial intelligence is not an ordinary technology, but perhaps "the last invention of humanity." It is a deliberately provocative framing intended to open a discussion about the consequences of the rapid rise of AI for society. The reference to the "end of civilization" is delivered with perspective, but it is meant to highlight that questions of safety, responsibility, and readiness can no longer be postponed. The debate thus targets what comes next — and how we, as a country and institutions, should prepare for it.Artificial intelligence: a provocation about the "last invention"
