AI in cybersecurity

Petr Chmelař - Founder, Resistine ·

Integrating artificial intelligence into the field of cybersecurity with an emphasis on historical developments and recent innovations. The evolution of AI from early neural networks and expert systems to modern large-scale language models capable of analyzing networks, detecting threats, and designing responses. It highlights persistent challenges, including a lack of experts, data overload, and threat complexity.

Resistine's AI CyberSecurity Assistant aims to address these issues by identifying assets, detecting vulnerabilities, recommending responses, and supporting compliance through intuitive chat interfaces. It extends its capabilities via AutoPilot, simulating Level 1 SOC analysts, and integrates with platforms like Slack for broader communication. Tools such as EDR, NDR, and XDR are central to its suite, with user-friendly interfaces in development across multiple OS platforms. Overall, Resistine positions itself as a transformative solution for proactive and scalable cybersecurity management.

Resistine AI CyberSecurity Assistant is an easy to use and affordable enterprise-grade XDR solution that makes your information and network of any size secure and compliant.

Artificial intelligence promises to bring order to the chaos of data and alerts in cybersecurity. The talk outlined where AI works in security, where it runs into limits, and why we are moving from “copilots” to more ambitious “autopilots.” It also shared practical experiences with open solutions and the XDR approach.

From AI Theory to Practice in Cybersecurity

AI can be understood as the simulation of human intelligence in a machine—not a magical entity, but the result of programming and learning from data. Its development went from theoretical concepts and the perceptron through experiments with neurons, expert systems, and learning with backpropagation to deep learning, after which a “darker” phase of stagnation also arrived. In the meantime, many researchers shifted their focus to cybersecurity, whose goal is sober: protect the good, uncover the malicious, and respond appropriately. In practice, that means being able to navigate a multitude of events and find those that have a real security impact.
