Use of Autonomous Mobile Robots for Military Purposes
In the presentation of RoboTech Vision s.r.o. you will learn more about the development of autonomous robots that are also capable of performing tasks related to mapping unknown space, for example for the needs of the military. An autonomous robot is a complicated device that can be divided into several subsystems. One of them is the sensory subsystem, with the help of which the autonomous robot perceives the environment in which it is located. About what these means are and to what extent, for example, elements of artificial intelligence are used Ing Martin Smoľák will talk in his presentation.
Robotech Vision, led by Martin Smolák, develops mobile robotic chassis and autonomous navigation algorithms for both indoor and outdoor environments. Their robots prove themselves in real-world conditions – from vineyards to municipal equipment. The key is the combination of sensors and artificial intelligence so that the machines can safely perceive and understand their surroundings. The company currently works with six robotic platforms for development and testing. Among the models in use is the Caster intended for indoor environments and the Crawler, which handles the outdoors; each platform has different kinematics. A long-standing test platform is the Andover 2, and in the lab they also have a Husky from a Canadian competitor. They therefore design the algorithms to work across different chassis and environments. Alongside the chassis, they also address the human–machine interface: the robot can be controlled, for example, by voice commands. To date they have focused mainly on municipal equipment and agriculture; you might have seen their machines in vineyards as well. Interest is growing from other industries too, as confirmed by several ongoing projects. The spectrum of deployment is thus gradually expanding. From chassis to real-world deployment
