Martin Jasenčák

Eastern Slovak Institute of Oncology, Head Physicist

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Science at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Department of Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics, and completed specialized postgraduate studies in Clinical Physics at the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava. He has gained experience through international study stays in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland. For 14 years, he has worked as Head Physicist at the East Slovak Oncology Institute, Inc. in Košice. He has been working in healthcare for 21 years. He has collaborated on several projects aimed at improving radiotherapy in the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, the Nuclear Regulatory Authority, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna. He is a member of the authoring team for standard operating procedures in radiotherapy and a member of the board of the Slovak Society of Radiation Oncology. Currently, he serves as a consultant to the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic on the project Improvement of Radiotherapy Planning Supported by Artificial Intelligence. He lectures at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice on Introduction to Clinical Physics and Methods of Clinical Dosimetry.
