Martina Ulmanová

National Cyber Security Centre, Head of Education and Cyber Exercise Unit

Ms. Martina Ulmanova is a Head of Cyber Exercise Unit at the National Cyber and Information Security Agency of the Czech Republic. She has extensive experience in the field of cyber security exercises.

Since 2014, she has served as an exercise director and local trainer for the Czech Republic in NATO cyber security exercise Cyber Coalition. In 2017 she became a leader of one of the exercise planning sub-teams in the world´s largest cyber defense exercise, Locked Shields.

In addition, she coordinates and prepares cyber awareness campaigns including cyber training for special target groups (e.g. U.S. Congress, Africa Endeavor, NATO ACT).

Martina holds her master degree in Strategic and Security Studies from the Masaryk University in Brno, the Czech Republic.

    An interactive method of education is one of the most effective ways to engage training audience. Martina will introduce strategic table-top exercises and why they are so important for national resilience and cyber awareness. In her speech, a practical guide “How to develop a cyber security table-top exercise” will be presented. The manual describes how cyber exercises should be designed, in order to effectively educate and train different target groups. In addition, it integrates key lessons learned and recommends best practices that NÚKIB has gained since 2014.
