The experience of the OECD in improving procurement systems around the globe shows the relevance of sound e-Procurement systems as a clear part of effective public procurement. The current e-Procurement environment in Slovakia, although existing for nine years, is characterized by a lack of clarity in terms of governance, legislation, processes and systems, which prevents a better and more efficient use of the available tools.

The development of a national e-Procurement strategy for Slovakia is a main component of a project designed between the Slovak Republic, the European Commission and the OECD with the aim of helping the country enact the public procurement action plan to allow the use of European Structural and Investment Funds. A comprehensive e-Procurement strategy aligning the different priorities and objectives, sustained by a clear vision, is a key enabler for the reform. This session will allow sharing the main findings and proposed roadmap to achieve an integrated e-Procurement system in Slovakia.
