Dave Welsh

Dave is a member of the Microsoft Corp Architectural Strategy Team, involved with Microsoft's vertical industry standards interests worldwide and also helping develop Microsoft’s Business Architecture strategy.

Dave’s industry experience is extremely broad and deep including:

  • building industry architectural design and building structural engineering
  • complete manufacturing plant systems, from product design to shop floor to warehousing applications
  • global transportation plus international distribution logistics systems (especially focused on cross border international trade
  • retail systems (especially online e-tail having spent some early years at Amazon.com and also multi channel retail where he was Director of Architecture for Nordstrom.com).

Dave’s past standards organizations affiliations include being: United States representative to the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation UN/CEFACT, the United Nations Rapporteur for Standards Liaison to all other standards groups in the world, Chair of the United Nations Business Process group of technical committees, one of the original ebXML Open Standards authors, a member of the International Chamber of Shipping and liaison to World Customs, a multi national representative (American and Dutch) to several ISO/IEC committees, and an active member of many European and North American industry standards bodies.
