Sending via the Peppol network

Accounting or enterprise systems will be able to send the invoice after filling in the required details directly by clicking “save and send”. The system automatically connects to the Peppol network and delivers the document to the recipient’s digital postman, while the sender can download a delivery confirmation. It eliminates enveloping, e‑mails, and the risk of loss in spam or courier boxes. Accountants thus have invoices for their clients neatly in one place.

Solutions for small businesses and timelines

Sole proprietors and small companies do not have to integrate their own system; so‑called digital postmen will provide the services for them. These will be simple web or mobile applications with an interface similar to an e‑mail inbox: received, sent, and send an invoice. The talk also showed an example of “Janko the accountant,” who uploads an invoice to the application and sends it in one step, for example, to “Palo the Painter.” The same interface will also enable managing invoices for multiple clients.

According to the speaker, voluntary testing could start in roughly half a year to a year. The goal is to open to smaller players the benefits that large companies have been using for years. Electronic invoicing thus promises less manual work, fewer errors, and a faster, more reliable exchange of documents.
