Electronic Invoicing in Slovakia + DEMO (5 min)
Stanislav Pavlovič from the Financial Administration presented how electronic invoicing is to work in Slovakia via the Peppol network. Using examples, he showed what an electronic invoice is, how it will be sent, and what tools accountants and small businesses will receive. The project aims for a simple and reliable exchange of invoices without e‑mails and envelopes. An electronic invoice is an XML file according to the Peppol BIS standard, where all fields have uniform names across Europe. Thanks to this unambiguity, computers can easily read and process it automatically. The talk also showed an illustrative tool: on the left is the XML and on the right the familiar “paper” form; clicking an item in the XML highlights its place on the invoice. This serves to make clear that a precise data structure underpins the visual form. What is an electronic invoice
