Network-wide deployment of AI in radiology (7 min)
Artificial intelligence is changing the way healthcare professionals work with imaging examinations. The Druhé oči lekára project shows how AI can be subtly and meaningfully integrated into everyday practice. Thanks to the prepared architecture, it was possible to deploy the solution across the network and process large volumes of data without complicating doctors’ work. The presenter compared the current AI “boom” to the era when new traders brought firewater to America: everything looks enticing, but the key is knowing what we really want from the technology. That’s why the Druhé oči lekára project was created with a simple goal: to bring AI directly into the tool doctors are used to. Deploying across many sites meant handling large volumes of images as well as various devices, but the groundwork in the form of an AI “mesh” architecture lasting over a year and a half enabled a secure and scalable solution.
