Digitalization projects are continuing, but time and money are tight, and the focus is shifting to life-event-based services, modern infrastructure, and the responsible use of AI. The state secretary explains what this means for citizens by the middle of next year as well as for Slovakia’s role in a digitally sovereign Europe. Europe emphasizes technological sovereignty and is seeking its own path, which is reflected in new priorities and revisions of strategies. Slovakia is aligning them with partners in the EU and reassessing how to meet the goals more effectively. A signal of this is the recent summit in Berlin, after which the emphasis on faster innovation and less bureaucracy is growing. Digitalization projects in Slovakia have not been halted; the review concerns only selected public procurements. The ministry says delivery is continuing while processes are being tightened so that expenditures are eligible and aligned with strategies. The aim is to gain time for oversight without slowing outcomes.European sovereignty is changing the course of digitalization
