BIM as a tool for construction and building management
The mere fact that the building has its own digital twin does not save money. Savings only come when the information that the digital twin provides is worked on a daily basis at all levels of management and maintenance, and of course if this information is constantly up-to-date.
The presentation will present the NAVGARO product platform - a system for creating and managing a digital twin of a real building, made on the principles of information modeling (BIM) and how it is used on a daily basis for building management.
Building Information Modeling is no longer just a fad for 'builders'. It is a methodology that makes the digital model the heart of planning, construction, and the operation and management of buildings and infrastructure. In Slovakia, it is becoming a standard and is heading toward mandatory use in public procurement. BIM – Building Information Modeling – means that the outcome of the designer’s work is a digital representation, not a pile of drawings. Every element of the model carries graphical and non-graphical data, so we work with it as a database of information. The methodology is based on open formats and interoperability so that data can be shared securely across the entire process. It is therefore not a single program, but a way of working that connects architecture, construction, and IT.BIM: a digital representation, not software
