ADOS - the way out of marasmus to comprehensive and preventive care for all
Presentation of several possibilities in the provision of complex nursing care in the patient's home environment with an orientation to the latest trends in the provision of this type of health care in Slovakia.
Comprehensive nursing management in the home setting delivers effective and more humane care that respects the patient’s integrity. The lecture showed how the role of nurses has expanded from routine practice to a specialized, coordinated approach. It also highlighted the system’s areas for improvement, especially in prevention and financing. Care provided at the patient’s home connects health needs with their social background and brings effective, high-quality, and comprehensive solutions. This applies to the community as well as to the individual, often a senior who lives alone and needs regular support. The speaker, after years of work in intensive and emergency care, sees great potential and long-term room for improvement in home nursing care. Home nursing care agencies (ADOS) are key in this system and have been operating in Slovakia for more than two decades. The home environment as a natural center of care
