First report on the state of the Digital Decade
This report highlights the need to accelerate and deepen the collective efforts, including through policy measures and investment in digital technologies, skills and infrastructures. It includes concrete recommendations to Slovakia and other Member States, ahead of the adoption of their national strategic roadmaps and for their future adjustments. This report also includes the monitoring of the European Declaration on Digital Rights and Principles for the Digital Decade, which translates the EU’s vision of digital transformation into principles and commitments.
The European Union has launched the Digital Decade program, which sets out how countries should progress in the digital sphere over the next ten years. The targets for 2030 are measurable and shared, but each state reaches them via its own path. What exactly is expected, and where does Slovakia stand in all this? The Digital Decade is a framework in which the EU, together with the Member States, coordinates steps toward modern digital infrastructure, skills, and services. In September 2023, the State of the Digital Decade report was published with recommendations for all 27 countries and proposals for projects involving multiple states, including a methodology for how to achieve the targets. Each country draws up its own roadmap, and the EU continuously assesses it and guides its implementation. The aim is to align the pace across Europe and support the sharing of best practices. What is the EU’s Digital Decade
