The contribution describes a specification of elements of National Spatial Data Infrastructure /NSDI/ in Slovak Republic /SR/ in context with Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing an infrastructure for spatial information in the Community (INSPIRE) as important part of e-Government policy, characteristics of current situation in SR and introduces coordination activities of implementation in SR. Specifies the geographical information and metadata, catalogue services, geographical informational services, rules of sharing of geographical information sources, coordination and monitoring mechanisms and related standards  processes.
