From sensors to sensor networks
The Slovak family company nron, founded in 2013 in Bratislava, develops sensor and radio communication systems for space. It gained experience with the first Slovak satellite skCube and later with a successful nanosatellite nicknamed „small gamma observatory“. Róbert's talk shows why satellite constellations and interconnected sensor networks are key to the future of data collection. Nron is a small yet ambitious company that collaborates with the European Space Agency and has components already flying on eight satellites, with additional missions in preparation. The early work on the skCube project brought the first real-world experience, which the company capitalized on with the subsequent successful satellite nicknamed „small gamma observatory“. Alongside that, it develops exceptionally tiny and energy-efficient sensors – one of the products ranks among the smallest in the world, according to the team. The goal is not only miniaturization, but also the smart integration of sensors into networks and their interconnection with satellites. From Bratislava to orbit: a small company, big missions
