AI in Dental monitoring of maxillo-orthopedic patients

/ Lecture
The combination of artificial intelligence and telemedicine has changed dentistry beyond recognition in just three years. However, AI is mainly responsible for the shift in the paradigm of treatment with dental braces in jaw orthopedics - orthodontics. AI helps doctors in practice today to segment CBCT data, automate cephalometrics and communicate with patients. The lecture summarizes 5 years of practical clinical experience with the telehealth solution called "Dental Monitoring", which Docent Thurzo, a pioneer of invisible braces, implemented at the Sangre Azul clinic. Today, AI in radiology, but also generative AI (such as ChatGPT or Midjourney) fundamentally change not only the clinical aspects of dentistry, but also its forms and the content of education at medical schools.

In this context, two quarantined publications were also published: Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Dental Education: A Review and Guide for Curriculum Update and Where Is the Artificial Intelligence Applied in Dentistry? Systematic Review and Literature Analysis
