Zuzana Wienk
Zuzana Wienk is a program director in one of the leading nonprofits in Slovakia – the Fair-Play Alliance. The organization was founded in 2002 and has been operating as a long-term civic watchdog over public administration and political representation ever since. Fair-Play Alliance became known for its thorough analytical investigation and uncovering of cases regarding unethical or illicit practices.
Zuzana has a major in journalism as a graduate of the Philosophical Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava. She worked as a reporter in Radio Twist, later in the same position for the main news of the public Slovak Television. For two years she was a columnist of an opinion leading weekly Domino forum. She anchors, regularly writes for expert publications and general Slovak media, lectures and occasionally sits in different juries.

How to Use Public Information | Kongres ITAPA 2010: Tam, kde sa svety stretávajú
Slovak state administration has not adapted itself to the needs of 21st century, neither to change of social paradigm. Act on freedom of information has not been significantly amended for ten years and the state administration has difficulties to accommodate to its philosophy. Civic society is often viewed as an enemy; it has to rely on data in very poor quality that are hard to access. Based on long term experience in gathering information from state administration Fair-Play Alliance decided to connect people with interest in radical change of state’s attitude to data and information release and together with other actors present a draft on standards of pro-active publication of data, on change of philosophy in this field and accommodation of legislative framework as well as practice to the needs of 21st century.
