Petr Herian
Petr Herian graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where he specialized in Automation and Instrumentation Engineering. He is the founder and owner of NEWTON Media, a company he established in 1995. He served as its CEO and managing director until 2007. Under his leadership, the company grew into the largest media monitoring and analysis company in central Europe. In 2008, he founded the tech company NEWTON Technologies, a.s., where he continues to serve as CEO and chairman of the board. The company focuses on developing automatic speech recognition systems, with applications in media, the judiciary, healthcare, and assistive technologies for people with disabilities. A major area of the company's work is developing tools for processing spoken language—particularly automated transcription, subtitling, content summarization, and multilingual translation. In recent years, they have also focused on real-time transcription and translation, enabling effective language inclusion at conferences and public events. These solutions support both people with hearing impairments and participants from diverse language backgrounds.
