Peter Chochula
He studied nuclear physics at Comenius University in Bratislava, where he obtained his PhD and became an associate professor. Since 1996, he has been working at CERN, where he has participated in several experiments and research projects, particularly in the field of developing radiation-resistant semiconductor detectors. He currently holds the position of deputy coordinator of the ALICE experiment control system at the LHC accelerator. He is an expert in large distributed online systems for experiment control and communication between their components. Within the ALICE experiment, he is responsible for the architecture of the control system and coordinating teams that collaborate on detector development and operation. At CERN, he also serves as head of relations with member countries and acts as management representative for several member countries, including Slovakia.
