Pavel Hrabě
Ing. Pavel Hrabě, Ph.D., BiZZdesign & University of Economics, Prague (VSE), completed studies of Technical Cybernetics at the ČVUT FEL Prague in 1989. After graduation he began working as an IT analyst in the University Hospital in Prague Motol.
He was the branch manager in one Czech retail bank and sales/ marketing manager in various companies. Since 1995 Pavel has worked at SAP ČR, initially as a consultant of SAP R/3 module SD, then Retail and CRM. He has been working as a solution architect and management consultant for key customers. Since 2007, Pavel has specialized in advising on IT strategy and EA.
In 2009, Pavel started his doctoral studies on EA at the University of Economics, Prague, completed in 2015. Since 2014 Pavel moved to BiZZdesign Czech Republic to get focused only on Enterprise Architecture. In 2015 he started also to work as an external advisor of Czech Ministry of Interior, in the role of chief methodologist of National Architecture of Czech Public Administration (Czech GEA).

Enterprise Architecture practice in Czech public administration | Medzinárodný kongres ITAPA 2016: Make IT Easy
Enterprise architecture has been used in a number of ways in public administration in the Czech Republic. The most widespread use of enterprise architecture has been in controlling for ICT projects, based on Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No 889/2016, and for projects financed from the European structural funds. At the same time, we have seen the development of the “National Architectural Plan”, which is a set of architectural models of central elements of eGovernment on the national level, which is gradually being extended to include models for individual central state administration bodies and territorial governments. Enterprise architecture is used (and will continue to be used) not only to design better ICT projects but also as the foundation and starting point for other management methods in public administration, in particular the management of service catalogues, process optimization, quality management and productivity management in public administration. -

Enterprise architecture is a manager method and tool for recognition, structure planning and enterprise operation and as such is an useful tool for support of public administration information system management. It supports the ability of the enterprise to form what changes are to be made in public services and organization of the institution to fulfill defined strategies and how IT support will change for this. Such an architecture helps to “do the right thing”. Architecture than supports implementation of process and IT solutions management, consequently their operation and service delivery. A so this architecture helps to “do things right”.
