He has been working at the Košice hospital since graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice in 1993. He has passed specialisation examinations in internal medicine, nephrology, medical management, and financing. For many years, he has been involved in the organ donation programme and organ transplantation at the local, regional, national, and international levels. He has served as Secretary General of the European Transplant Coordinators Organisation, National Transplant Coordinator, President of the Slovak Society of Transplantology, Regional Expert of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic for organ transplantation, member of the Transplantation Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, and member of the Presidium of the Slovak Medical Society. At the Louis Pasteur University Hospital, he worked as a secondary physician at the First Internal Medicine Clinic, as a primary physician in the Transplantation Department, as a deputy in the Medical and Preventive Care Department, and, since June 2022, as its director.
