Juraj Malíček
Juraj Malíček studied aesthetics and philosophy and currently works as a scientific and pedagogical professional at the Department of Journalism and New Media and the Institute of Literary and Artistic Communication at the Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. He lectures on the history of aesthetic thought, the theory of mass media communication and popular culture, film interpretation, and film history.
He is the author of the monographs Vademecum of Pop Culture, Pop Culture – A User's Guide, and The Pleasure of Appearance and Knowledge – Pop Culture as Experience. In collaboration with František Gyarfáš, he co-authored the book Our Film Century. He is a regular guest on the Baláž Hubinák Show on Radio FM and co-hosts the film podcast Vertigo.
Occasionally, he writes about practically anything, collects comics, LEGO, and action figures, enjoys shopping for stationery, and prefers using a shotgun in video games. In the animated film Ralph Breaks the Internet, he voiced the character of a geek.
