Alena Mochnáčová

ZSS Sunny House and Nursing Centre, Manager and Statutory Officer
Since 2010, she has been working in the field of long-term care management and development, combining economic management, process design, and digitization to develop a functional, sustainable facility operation model. Since the construction and launch of Slnečný dom, she has been involved in shaping its organizational structure, processes, and economic stability. From 2017 to 2022, she actively participated in the procedural and technical development of national standards for nursing and long-term care, including working with the Imuthes system to implement and process them. She co-authored the NQRM (Nursing Quality Risk Management) methodology and developed evaluation and comparison tools to monitor quality in long-term care facilities. To address practical needs, she created the first functional electronic model of nursing documentation, which served as the basis for the subsequent development of the EPD module of the Malina Portal. This step represented a significant shift towards the systematic digitization of nursing documentation and more efficient process management. She participated in the creation of economic models and analyses of nursing care costs, which served as a basis for setting and defending the nursing flat rate and its gradual increase. Her work contributed to data-driven arguments for the economic sustainability of nursing care in social service facilities. Since 2018, she has been a co-creator of the Malina Portal process architecture. She actively participates in its modeling, user interface specification, and coordination of cooperation with the programming team in the development and implementation of the Public, LTC, and EPD modules (an electronic module for maintaining nursing documentation in accordance with standard procedures). At the European Care Forum, she brings the perspective of a manager who ensures the translation of strategic concepts into the functional operation of facilities. Her experience links economic sustainability, process management, and digitization with the real-world implementation of quality standards in everyday care, and she actively supports the formation of the European Care Framework initiative.

  • Malina Portal - an effective tool for ensuring the most appropriate follow-up and long-term care in a timely manner
The MALINA portal, as the first national navigator of an available service in situations of helplessness, was officially put into operation in March 2019. Its goal is to prevent situations of helplessness, deterioration of the condition due to late provision of the necessary service. The reason for its creation was the lack of timely help in assessing the need for continued care in connection with the deterioration of health and self-sufficiency as a serious societal professional and ethical problem. The presented idea of assessing the health and social status based on a simple application with a link to search for a suitable service and free capacity already when the patient is discharged from the hospital is an original Slovak idea.
