ITAPA 2019 in numbers

A month ago the 18th International ITAPA Congress 2019 was successfully completed. What did it bring?

The Pre-event day of the congress opened a discussion on the next programming period focusing on the informatization issues. Speakers of the New Programming Period panel discussed resources from the European Structural and Investment Funds Slovakia will be able to use from 2021 and further priority areas. The discussion followed up the next day when political leaders outlined their ideas of effectively building a digital state.

While the second day was dedicated to current trends in digitization, state administration, self-government and future of informatization by Slovak as well as foreign speakers, the third day of the congress dealt with the cybersecurity challenges. It was accompanied by a course of practical cybernetic self-defense Cybertapa.

A total of 700 people attended the three-day lasting congress, of which 481 actively used the Slido app to either ask questions or vote. At the congress there were 126 speakers from 14 countries.

And who came to be the best speaker according to the Slido voters?

There were several speakers giving a presentation to larger audiences during the panel sections, which allowed them to interact with more people and thus potentially win more votes. In the end, however, it turned out that the debate between political leaders was decisive. There Michal Truban (Progresívne Slovensko party) convinced the highest number of voters and became the top speaker of the International ITAPA Congress 2019. The second place went to Andrei Aleksiev (Check Point), who took full advantage of his appearances in three different panels and received a total of 30 votes. The third place is shared by Richard Raši, Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investment and Informatization and Gabriel Lachmann (Slovakia.Digital) with 26 votes. The top five speakers are closed by Emil Fitoš (ITAS) with 25 votes.

At the congress, participants could enjoy 84 presentations, subsequent discussions and five discussion panels in total. The discussions were extremely stimulating as there were exactly 162 questions placed through Slido. Even if the time at the congress wasn’t enough to answer all of them, our speakers took their time so you will be able to learn their approach which is displayed on our website.

Like the past ITAPA events, the 18th International ITAPA Congress 2019 was a place where you could meet IT professionals and colleagues from both commercial and government sector, hear a lot of inspirational presentations and actively engage in discussions. All presentations can be found in pdf on our website and in the video on our YouTube channel.
