Europe - a single area for electronic identification
Establishment of the framework for mutual recognition of electronic identification means (eg. Electronic IDs) within Europe and provide an environment for safe and easy access to cross-border services both at national and at EU level, are the aims of the project STORK (Secure Identity Across Borders Linked) .
STORK Initiative (co-financed by the European Union) based on distributed architecture, which uses the mutual integration of individual national solutions for electronic identification (eID) to a fully integrated pan-European system, while taking into account local specifics, as well as existing eID infrastructure.
Nowadays, the STORK project involves 19 European countries, including Slovakia, and in addition to government institutions involved in the project and universities, nonprofit organizations and the private sector, which creates conditions for achieving the objective to make Europe a single area for interoperable electronic identification.
