Over the past year, our way of working with AI has shifted from chatting in the browser and manual „copy–paste“ to agents who can not only propose but also verify their own suggestions. Agentic AI triggers steps, evaluates results, and iterates, so the human monitors only the direction and the end result. But that brings questions of security, rights, and responsibility—in other words, the need for good brakes. A year ago, we used AI by manually transferring its suggestions into target tools and feeding the result back. An agent removes this middle layer: it’s a wrapper around the model that can execute the proposed procedure on its own, get feedback, and assess whether it was a good step. It then iterates – tries further steps, compares, learns from mistakes – and if it encounters uncertainty, it requests human approval according to the configured rules.
