A survey among participants of a technology conference showed that for modernizing Slovakia, people—not the technologies themselves—are decisive. The top priority is education, talent, and strong project leadership. Expectations also point to government on your phone and to AI aimed at increasing productivity.

Technology is here; people and education are decisive

Participants agreed that technology is no longer the main obstacle; rather, we lack wisdom, knowledge, and capacity. As many as 70 % of respondents would therefore invest the most in modernizing education, which stood out prominently at the technology conference. This was followed by support for startups and the growth of technology companies; third was research and technology transfer. Only then came the traditional notions of “building a modern state” through specific technologies—people, talent, and ideas take the lead.
