The energy crisis showed that without accurate and accessible data, energy is hard to manage. Many buildings still rely on manual meter readings and monthly invoices, which are not enough for decision-making. The Slovak team Datable therefore combines metering and artificial intelligence to turn raw data into immediate action for cities and companies.
Data Monitor: from measurement to forecasting
That’s why Datable created the Data Monitor software, which combines measurement with machine learning models. It tracks every metering point in real time, monitors agreed limits, and can uncover risks such as exceeding capacities, grid overload, drops in efficiency, or an impending fault. The system shows not only what is happening, but also what might happen – from load forecasting to anomaly detection before they cause an outage. And if a manager doesn’t want to dig through charts, they can ask directly: the chatbot Dave will prepare a summary, find the largest consumption areas, and display them, for example, in a pie chart.
Benefits for cities and companies: rapid responses and measurable savings
The greatest value is rapid action based on accurate data. Teams don’t need dozens of analysts, because the system flags problems in time and enables a response within minutes, not weeks of auditing. Savings come from multiple directions – from uncovering overconsumption and human inefficiency to lowering reserved capacities and predictive diagnostics. On average, Datable reports approximately 15 % cost reductions, which for cities with multi-million budgets amounts to substantial sums.
The solution rests on teamwork: co-founders Šimon Staňo and Jakub lead a group that trains models on more than a thousand metering points and delivers results to clients. The system has already earned awards and, more importantly, the trust of partners and cities where implementations are running or being prepared. In an environment where volatile prices are joined by obligations like ESG, the development of renewable sources or charging stations, such a digital layer helps turn data into decisions before it’s too late.
