1on1 interview (11:55 - 12:05)
Generative AI is heralding a new era, saturating the internet with purposeless and artificial content. This deluge of synthetic material erodes the integrity of digital information and serves as a warning of the potential dangers of unrestrained technological advancement.
AI slop is mass-generated content created and distributed using artificial intelligence—from texts to images and videos. Abroad it is a big topic; here we are only just starting to talk about it. The content ranges from cheap junk to deliberate manipulations, and the digital world enables its rapid, mass distribution. AI slop can be understood as a flood of automatically generated content that fills the online space regardless of quality. Sometimes it's just poor-quality outputs, other times it's targeted deception—the line isn't always clear. An example is the recent fake report about an alleged Halloween parade in Dublin that brought thousands of people into the streets; if AI was used for it, it falls under the same phenomenon. The essence is that today you can quickly create “anything, anywhere, in any format” and spread it just as quickly. What is "AI slop" and why is it a problem?
