Integrated care service in a micro-region - a practical view of benefits and challenges
Activities of the Agency for integrated care, development of social care in the region. An interesting result within the demographic development obtained from the community planning of social services for the region. The presentation was also dedicated to the further activities of the agency and the expansion of its activities in the Banskobystrica region.
The pilot project of an integrated care agency shows how a home care service can be made accessible even in the smallest municipalities. It emerged from broad cooperation among public institutions and international partners and has been tested for three years in one micro-region. The aim is better availability of services and more efficient use of public resources. The project is the result of roughly a year and a half of analysing the area’s needs and resources and was created in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, the Human Resources Operational Programme, the self-governing region, the European Commission and the World Bank. After defending the plan before these institutions, its implementation began in 2021. Today it provides home care services for 15 municipalities, which is approximately 15,000 inhabitants. The pilot is testing how to set up the system so that it is functional and financially sustainable for municipalities of different sizes.From analysis to practice
