In 1996 he completed his studies at the Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava, in 2011 he completed his master's studies at the Faculty of Law of the Pan-European University of Law in Bratislava. He has a certificate in general surgery and traumatology. From 1996 to 2010 he worked as a doctor in a hospital, later he worked at the Regional Office of Public Health in Čadca. MUDr. Marián Šóth has been the president of ASL SR since 2015, which actively represents the interests of the ambulatory sector across the entire spectrum of expertise within the Slovak healthcare system. He has run a general practice for adults himself for more than 20 years. The Association of Private Physicians of the Slovak Republic is a member of the Association of Employers' Unions and Associations of the Slovak Republic, the European Union of General Practitioners (UEMO) in European countries and EANA - the European Working Group of Specialists in the Outpatient Sector.

is the CEO of the international holding Penta Hospitals International. The largest private health care provider in Central Europe operates in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. In the past, he held the position of CEO of Unilabs Slovakia. 25 years ago, he was at the birth of Alpha medical, which gradually under his leadership became the largest laboratory network in Central and Eastern Europe and in 2017 became part of the international Unilabs network based in Switzerland.
