Digitalization is not about scanning papers, but about transforming services into secure and convenient digital processes. The key is digital identity, which lets you know who is on the other side of the screen at every step of the service process. Experience from the Czech Republic shows that the private sector, rather than the state, can be the engine of progress. People’s expectations accelerated after the pandemic: they want to handle services on their mobile, quickly and securely. For that to work, an organization must be sure it is really communicating with the right person — at registration, when updating data, and during transactions. Digital identity is therefore permeating both traditional and new segments and protects against fraud.
