Key challenges for cyber and how we are fixing them
Every organization currently faces many challenges in cybersecurity. In a brief presentation, I will try to focus on the key ones and introduce the listeners to how we deal with them in NAKIT and together with the Ministry of the Interior for him and in some cases for the state.
Cybersecurity in government runs up less against exotic attacks and more against very practical limits: people, money, and the pace of new technologies. The experience of the Czech state-owned enterprise NAKIT shows that the solution is a combination of cultivating talent and sharing services across agencies. The result can be more robust protection at lower cost. NAKIT is a state-owned enterprise established by the Czech Ministry of the Interior and ranks among the largest ICT entities in public administration in the country, with an annual turnover of around 1,3 billion Kč. It provides infrastructure services, plans and designs new solutions, and develops applications for the state. During the pandemic, it was behind the Tečka app, which was used by more than 6,5 million people. Alongside this, it has long operated a Security Operations Center (SOC) for e-government. It is precisely the unique projects and real incidents that attract young people who would not get similar exposure elsewhere. In this way, the state can offer work on topics that are exceptional outside.NAKIT: infrastructure, development, and security for the state
