Innovations in health
A short overview of the method, need and form of financing innovations in healthcare from the national project Inovujme.sk. At the same time, information will also be provided about the financing plan for innovations in the new program period.
The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency has been running the Inovujme.sk project for seven years now, supporting ideas and solutions that benefit society. In healthcare, it has brought two special calls with an emphasis on modern and efficient services for patients. Expert evaluation was provided by external experts to select the projects with the greatest potential. Inovujme.sk is a national project under the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic that supports companies in developing new solutions through innovation vouchers. Two healthcare calls were created in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and brought a higher support cap—companies could apply for up to 50,000 euros. Since the agency is not a medical expert, external evaluators assessed the quality of the proposals, and projects defended their solutions before a panel of experts. Thematically, support focused on areas such as oncology, neuroscience, dosage forms, and 3D printing and bioprinting, with companies saying the scope definitions were precise and practical. How the state supports healthcare innovation
