The main challenges for cyber security in healthcare and their possible solutions
What strategic challenges does healthcare face in the field of cyber security? You will learn examples from practice with solutions for the future and training options for existing IT staff of state hospitals in this lecture.
Cybersecurity in hospitals in Slovakia is moving forward, but the actual level still lags behind what legislation requires. The biggest constraints are money and people. The solution is emerging in cooperation, talent development, and the systematic centralization of technologies. Hospitals, as operators of essential services, meet the framework European obligations, but the level of cyber resilience cannot be described as satisfactory. In practice, the situation tends to be somewhere between “adequate” and “inadequate.” The positive news is that interest in the topic is growing—not only among IT staff, but now also at the level of hospital leadership. This shift, however, brings new demands on capacity, knowledge, and processes that hospitals will not build on their own without support and resources.Paper vs. practice: where we are today
