Protection of the Information Border - Software Tools to suppress Hostile Information Activity
In the evolving landscape of defense, the information domain has emerged as a pivotal battleground, where hybrid operations exploit vulnerabilities inherent to democratic societies. In this presentation, we will explore some of the technologies and practical software tools developed by Gerulata, designed to empower analysts to monitor and analyze hostile information activities online.
Founder Michal Trnka introduced the Bratislava startup Gerulata Technologies, which develops analytical software to defend democratic institutions against hybrid threats in the information domain. Clients include security analysts and professionals from state institutions, the military, law enforcement, and intelligence services. The company is built on massive open data collection, artificial intelligence, and a knowledge graph. Sentinel is a geographic dashboard that assembles a situational overview and an early-warning system from fast-moving open internet sources. Artificial intelligence classifies, summarizes, and geolocates events in real time across more than a hundred languages, so the analyst does not need to know the local language. Users can set their own alerts and receive important information on their phones as well. The tool works with both current and historical data, which makes it possible to track trends and capture even planned protests or unrest.Sentinel: rapid situational awareness from open sources
