Jan Majtan studied Banking and Applied Informatics at the universities in Vienna and Amsterdam. He joined Creditanstalt Bankverein in Vienna, then worked on executive positions in several European countries for ING Bank, AIG Financial Services and was a member of the board of directors and CEO of companies of Raiffeisen Bank International Group. Later he worked as a director and consultant in consulting companies focused on project and process management, IT security, design of secure systems, operation management, and specialized advice. At present, he is acting as Director-General of the Cyber Security Section of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation.
No country must be manipulated by suppliers or their business ambitions, however attractive they may be. It is the duty of public administration to take care of the safety of the population and the development and operation of the state. We are therefore setting the standards of cybersecurity and expectations we have towards suppliers, legislators and other interest groups.
