Dr. Gyorgy Csepeli is the Public Policy Director at the Ministry of Economy and Transport. Dr. Csepeli is also a professor of Sociology at Eotvos Lorand University. He has also served as the Chair of the Department of Social Psychology and the Chair of the Department of Cultural Anthropology at his university. He was been a Fulbright Scholar at UCLA, a Dubach Distinguished Professor at Oregon State University, and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan, the New School for Social Research, and Yale University. He is the author of numerous publications, including most recently “Construction of the Roma Identity in Eastern and Central Europe”, “Blindness to Success: Social-psychological Objectives Along the Way to a Market Economy in Eastern Europe”, and “National Identity in Hungary at the Turn of the Millenium”.
